Description

Assessment redesign and security are top of mind for college leaders as artificial intelligence tools continue to evolve -- including into autonomous agents capable of completing complex assignments.

Drawing on data, recent events and expert insights, this webcast discussion will move past questions of AI detection to address how institutions are rethinking assessment and validating learning in this new era. The goal is to help leaders not just maintain but (re)build confidence in what a college degree really means -- for students, educators and employers alike.

Discussion points include:

  • As AI itself becomes more capable, what counts as credible evidence of student capability?
  • What new (or classic) forms of assessment best capture student learning and skill development in the age of agentic AI?
  • How should institutions redesign, layer and secure assessment systems to evaluate both human judgment and -- where appropriate -- AI fluency?
  • How can colleges boost employer and public confidence in what a degree represents in 2026 and beyond?

Panelists:

  • Anna Mills
    English Instructor, College of Marin
  • Danny Liu, Ph.D.
Professor of Educational Technologies, University of Sydney
